Study in Canada from Nepal – 2025 (#1 Ultimate Guide)We Help Nepali Students Get Into the Best Universities in UK. At ICCC Study Abroad Consultancy, we have spent years helping Nepali students find their place at the best universities. We know how confusing and overwhelming the process can feel — from shortlisting the right universities in UK to understanding visa requirements and scholarship options. That is why we created this guide: to give you everything you need in one place, written by a team that has been through this journey thousands of times with students just like you.
The United Kingdom continues to be one of the top choices for Nepali students pursuing higher education abroad. With globally recognised degrees, a two-year post-study work visa, affordable scholarship options, and a rich multicultural environment, universities in UK offer Nepali students an experience that is both academically rewarding and personally transformative.
In this blog, we walk you through 20 of the top universities in UK that we actively recommend to our students — universities where Nepali applicants have a strong track record of success. Each institution is UKVI-approved, welcomes international students, and offers programme aligned with the most in-demand career paths.
What We Tell Every Nepali Student Before Choosing a UK University
When our counsellors at ICCC sit down with a student for the first time, one of the first things we ask is: what matters most to you? The answer to that question shapes everything. Here are the key factors we advise every Nepali student to consider when evaluating universities in UK:
Academic Quality and Rankings:
The UK has some of the world’s finest universities, and rankings from QS, Times Higher Education, and the Complete University Guide are a useful starting point. However, we always remind our students that the best universities in UK for Nepali students are not necessarily the most famous ones — they are the ones where you will thrive, get support, and graduate career-ready.
Tuition Fees and Scholarship Opportunities:
International tuition at universities in UK typically ranges from £10,000 to £25,000 per year. Through our partnerships with several universities listed in this blog, ICCC students often gain access to exclusive scholarships and fee waivers. We will always help you identify every funding option available to you.
Post-Study Work Visa (Graduate Route):
Most of the universities in UK on our list is registered with UKVI, meaning you are eligible for the two-year Graduate Route visa upon completing your studies. This is one of the biggest advantages of studying in the UK — and one we help our students plan for from the very beginning.
Location and Cost of Living:
Whether you dream of studying in London or prefer a more affordable city like Huddersfield, Preston, or Leicester, location significantly affects your overall experience and budget. We help students weigh up these trade-offs so they can make the decision that is right for them. For more details you can also check the detailed blog for the Total Cost of Living in UK for International Students.
Support for International Students:
We only recommend universities with strong international student support offices, dedicated orientation programmes, and mental health resources — because we know that settling into life abroad takes time and the right support makes all the difference.
Our Top 20 Recommended Universities in UK for Nepali Students
Based on our experience placing Nepali students across the United Kingdom, here are the 20 universities we most frequently recommend — and why.
1. University of Sunderland
The University of Sunderland is one of the universities in UK that we are especially proud to recommend. It consistently earns high marks for teaching quality, affordability, and student satisfaction — and it has proven to be an excellent fit for many of our Nepali students. Sunderland operates campuses in both London and Sunderland, giving our students the flexibility to study in the capital or experience life in a welcoming northern city.
The university ranks #33 in The Guardian University Guide 2025 and boasts an impressive 93% graduate employability rate.
Tuition fees range from approximately £16,500 to £21,000 per year, and scholarships of up to £5,000 are available for eligible international students.
Popular programmes among our applicants include MSc Data Science, MBA, MSc Cybersecurity, and BSc Nursing. The city of Sunderland is one of the most affordable in the UK, making total study costs here very manageable.
2. Coventry University
Coventry University is one of the most internationally diverse and forward-thinking universities in UK, and it is a university we at ICCC feel very confident recommending to our students.
Coventry was ranked No. 1 in the UK for International Student Diversity (QS Europe Rankings) — a fact that speaks directly to how welcoming this institution is for students arriving from Nepal.
With over 300 courses, campuses in Coventry, London, and Scarborough, a QS World Ranking of #531, and a Gold rating under the Teaching Excellence Framework 2023, Coventry combines prestige with accessibility.
Tuition fees are approximately £16,800 to £20,050 per year, and the university offers a range of international scholarships. We have successfully placed many Nepali students here in Business, Engineering, Computing, Health Sciences, and Design programmes.
3. University of Roehampton
The University of Roehampton is a hidden gem among universities in UK, and one we love introducing to our students who want the benefits of studying in London without the overwhelming scale of a large urban campus. Set in the leafy southwest of the capital, Roehampton offers a college-style environment with green spaces, smaller class sizes, and a genuinely close-knit community — all within easy reach of central London.
The university excels in Psychology, Business, Education, and Sports Science. Its dedicated international support team has been consistently praised by students, and we have found that Nepali students settle in exceptionally well here. If you are looking for a London university experience that feels personal and supportive, this is one we will always put on your shortlist.
4. Ravensbourne University London
For Nepali students who are passionate about creative careers, Ravensbourne University London is the university we point to first. Located in Greenwich — one of London’s most vibrant and creative areas — Ravensbourne is a specialist university with laser-focused expertise in digital media, fashion, broadcasting, UX design, and visual effects.
What makes Ravensbourne stand out is its exceptional industry connectivity. Students work on live briefs from global brands, and graduates enter the creative industry with real portfolios and professional contacts already in hand. If you are a Nepali student dreaming of a career in the creative arts or digital media, we strongly encourage you to speak with one of our counsellors about Ravensbourne.
5. York St John University
York St John University is a university we recommend for students who want a genuinely personal university experience in one of England’s most beautiful and historic cities. With campuses in York and London, York St John offers programmes in Business, Education, Health, Media, and the Arts — all delivered with the kind of close tutor-to-student relationships that larger institutions simply cannot match.
The university performs exceptionally well in national student satisfaction surveys, and our Nepali students who have chosen York often tell us it gave them the confidence and support they needed to truly excel. York itself is safe, walkable, affordable, and full of character — a city our students consistently fall in love with.
6. Ulster University
Ulster University is one of the most geographically flexible universities in UK on our list, with campuses across London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Northern Ireland. This makes it an especially practical choice for Nepali students who may wish to move cities during or after their studies, or who want the option of studying near existing Nepali communities in cities like Birmingham or Manchester.
As one of the UK’s largest universities with over 27,000 students, Ulster offers a wide portfolio of courses in Business, Law, Computing, Engineering, and Health Sciences. The university offers merit-based international scholarships, and our team at ICCC has strong working relationships with their international admissions team — which can make a real difference in the speed and smoothness of your application.
7. University of the West of Scotland
The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) is a university we recommend particularly for students who want to experience Scotland — a country with its own unique culture, natural beauty, and educational tradition — while also having the option of a London campus. UWS has campuses across Scotland (Paisley, Ayr, Hamilton, and Dumfries) as well as in London, giving Nepali students remarkable flexibility.
UWS is ranked among the top universities in Scotland and is well regarded for its applied, career-focused programmes in Business, Computing, Nursing, and Engineering. Scotland’s lower cost of living compared to London is a genuine financial advantage, and Edinburgh and Glasgow — both within easy reach — are world-class cities in their own right.
8. University of East London
The University of East London (UEL) is one of the most exciting and rapidly rising universities in UK, and it is a university we at ICCC have seen deliver outstanding results for our students. Located in Stratford and Docklands — areas transformed by the 2012 Olympics and now at the heart of London’s tech and creative boom — UEL is perfectly positioned for career success.
In 2025, UEL ranked 1st in London for graduate employability improvement (Graduate Outcomes Survey) and 2nd in the UK for student start-ups. Its programmes in Architecture, Nursing, Psychology, Business Management, and Engineering receive consistently strong marks in the National Student Survey. With over 20,000 students and one of the most diverse campuses in the UK, UEL is a place where Nepali students feel immediately at home.
9. BPP University
BPP University is the UK’s first publicly listed company to receive degree-awarding powers, and it occupies a unique position among universities in UK as a genuinely profession-first institution. BPP specialises in Law, Business, Technology, and Nursing — and everything it does is oriented around getting students into professional careers as efficiently as possible.
With over 13 study centres across England, including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, and Bristol, BPP offers more location flexibility than almost any other institution on our list. The university trains professionals for 80% of FTSE 100 companies and works with firms including KPMG, Deloitte, and Shell. For Nepali students with clear professional goals in finance, law, or technology, we often find BPP is the perfect fit.
10. University of West London
The University of West London (UWL) is a career-focused modern university that we frequently recommend to Nepali students interested in Nursing, Healthcare, Business, Music, and Hospitality Management. Based in Ealing, West London — just minutes from Heathrow Airport — UWL is one of the most conveniently located universities in UK for students flying in from Nepal.
UWL has been recognised as one of the best universities in London for student satisfaction, and its nursing and healthcare programmes have an excellent professional reputation. The university offers a supportive international student environment and good links with London employers. We have placed many Nepali students here who have gone on to build strong careers in the NHS and in the hospitality industry.
11. University College Birmingham
For Nepali students with ambitions in Hospitality, Tourism, Culinary Arts, Business, or Sport, University College Birmingham (UCB) is a specialist institution we recommend enthusiastically. UCB sits in the heart of Birmingham — the UK’s second city and one of its most culturally diverse — and has exceptional industry connections in the hospitality and events sectors.
The city of Birmingham has a significant and well-established Nepali and South Asian community, which many of our students find reassuring as they settle into life in the UK. Birmingham also offers a noticeably lower cost of living than London, which significantly reduces the overall cost of studying here. UCB’s practical, hands-on teaching style suits Nepali students who want to build real skills alongside their academic qualifications.
12. University of Wolverhampton
The University of Wolverhampton is a community-focused public university in the West Midlands that we recommend to Nepali students who are looking for a solid, affordable UK education with strong local employer links. The university offers a broad subject range including Business, Law, Computing, Health Sciences, and Engineering across its campuses in Wolverhampton, Walsall, and Telford.
One of the things we particularly appreciate about Wolverhampton is its strong commitment to student inclusion and pastoral support — something that matters enormously to students who are studying away from home for the first time. The city also has a growing Nepali community and excellent transport links to Birmingham and beyond.
13. University of Worcester
The University of Worcester is a modern campus university that consistently earns very high student satisfaction scores — and it is one of those universities in UK that genuinely delivers on the promise of a supportive, community-driven education. Worcester is a peaceful, affordable university city in the heart of England, and we often recommend it to Nepali students who want a focused academic environment away from the noise and expense of London.
The university is particularly strong in Education, Health Sciences, Business, and Sports Science. For students who thrive with smaller cohorts, dedicated tutors, and a real sense of belonging, Worcester consistently comes up as a favourite in our students’ feedback.
14. University of Central Lancashire
The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is one of the largest universities in UK, based in Preston, Lancashire. UCLan’s size means it can offer something for almost every student — with over 500 courses spanning Business, Medicine, Law, Journalism, Engineering, and the Arts. The university has a well-established international student office and a strong track record of supporting Nepali and South Asian applicants through the application and visa process.
We particularly recommend UCLan to students looking for affordable UK study options outside London. Preston’s cost of living is among the lowest of any UK university city, and UCLan offers an active, well-resourced campus that punches well above its weight in terms of facilities and career support.
15. University of Huddersfield
The University of Huddersfield is one of our most recommended universities in UK for students who want exceptional teaching quality at an affordable price. The university was awarded University of the Year by Times Higher Education — an accolade that reflects its remarkable focus on the student experience — and it continues to score among the UK’s highest in national teaching quality surveys.
Strong programmes include Computing, Music Technology, Business, Engineering, and Pharmacy. With campuses in both Huddersfield and London, our students have flexibility in where they study. Huddersfield itself — in West Yorkshire — offers some of the lowest student living costs in the UK, making this an outstanding option for Nepali students who are budget-conscious without wanting to compromise on quality.
16. London South Bank University
London South Bank University (LSBU) is a professionally oriented, STEM-strong university in the heart of Southwark, central London. We recommend LSBU most often to Nepali students interested in Nursing, Civil Engineering, Computing, Architecture, or Business — fields where LSBU’s strong industry connections and practical teaching approach give students a genuine competitive edge.
LSBU’s location in Zone 1 London is a huge advantage for networking, internships, and accessing London’s professional ecosystem. The university also has a strong tradition of investing in student enterprise, and we have seen Nepali graduates from LSBU build impressive careers in both the NHS and the private sector.
17. London Metropolitan University
London Metropolitan University is one of the most diverse universities in the world, welcoming students from over 170 countries — and it is a university whose values we at ICCC deeply respect. Located across campuses in Islington and Aldgate in central London, London Met offers affordable, accessible programmes in Business, Law, Computing, Arts, and Social Sciences.
London Met is particularly welcoming to first-generation university students and those who may have taken a non-traditional path to higher education — qualities that make it a natural fit for many Nepali applicants. Its tuition fees are among the most accessible of any London university, and the international student community here is vibrant and active.
18. Leeds Trinity University
Leeds Trinity University is a teaching-focused, student-centred university in Leeds — one of the UK’s most exciting and affordable cities for students. We recommend Leeds Trinity to Nepali students who want a close-knit university community with strong tutor support, combined with the energy and opportunity of a major northern city.
Strong courses include Journalism, Media, Education, Business, and Sports. Leeds Trinity’s size means students are never just a number, and the university’s high student satisfaction scores back this up. Leeds itself offers an incredibly active social scene, excellent transport links, and a cost of living that is comfortably lower than London — a combination that makes it a genuinely attractive option for Nepali students.
19. University of the West of England (UWE Bristol)
The University of the West of England — known as UWE Bristol — is one of the top modern universities in UK, and Bristol is one of the cities we most enthusiastically recommend to our students. Bristol is innovative, multicultural, and genuinely exciting — and UWE is a university that channels all of that energy into its teaching. It is consistently ranked among the best universities in UK outside the Russell Group.
UWE is particularly strong in Engineering, Robotics, Business, Law, and Health Sciences, and it has deep connections to Bristol’s thriving aerospace, technology, and financial services sectors. For Nepali students with ambitions in technical or professional fields, UWE Bristol offers a compelling combination of quality, employability, and lifestyle.
20. De Montfort University
De Montfort University (DMU) in Leicester is a university we recommend with real enthusiasm. DMU has built a strong reputation for its vibrant campus, social inclusion mission, and career-focused programmes in Business, Art and Design, Engineering, Law, and Health Sciences. The university is also a leader in sustainability and community engagement — values that resonate with many of our students.
Leicester is one of the most diverse cities in the UK, which means Nepali students at DMU feel welcomed and represented from day one. The cost of living is comfortably lower than in London, and DMU offers a range of international scholarships. We have placed a good number of Nepali students at DMU and the feedback we receive is consistently positive — in terms of both academic experience and the warmth of the welcome they received.
English Language Requirements — What We Tell Our Students
One of the first questions Nepali students ask us at ICCC is: do I meet the English language requirements? The good news is that most of the universities in UK on our list are flexible and supportive when it comes to language requirements. Here is a general guide:
IELTS Academic:
Most universities in UK require an overall band score of 6.0 to 6.5, with no individual component below 5.5. Some programmes and universities in UK accept 5.5 overall with pre-sessional support. We always advise our students to aim for 6.5 to give themselves the widest choice of programmes.
PTE Academic:
A score of 51 to 65 is generally accepted as equivalent to IELTS 6.0 to 6.5. PTE is increasingly popular among our students because of its faster results turnaround.
TOEFL iBT:
Accepted by most universities in UK with scores between 79 and 90, depending on the programme.
UK Student Visa for Nepali Students — We Guide You Through Every Step
Applying for a UK Student Visa can feel daunting, but at ICCC we have supported hundreds of Nepali students through the process — and we are here to make it as smooth as possible for you too.
As a Nepali national, you will need a UK Student Visa (formerly Tier 4) to study in the UK for courses lasting longer than six months. The key documents required include a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) issued by your chosen university, proof of English language proficiency, evidence of sufficient funds (typically £1,023 per month outside London or £1,334 per month in London), and a valid passport.
Nepal is a visa national country, so all Nepali applicants must apply online through the UKVI portal and attend a biometric appointment at the UK Visa Application Centre in Kathmandu. Our team at ICCC prepares all our students thoroughly for this stage — from document checklists to mock visa interviews — so that you can walk into that appointment with confidence.
Scholarships for Nepali Students in Universities in UK — We Help You Find the Funding
At ICCC, we believe that finances should never be the reason a talented Nepali student cannot access the best universities in UK. Here are the key scholarship options we help our students apply for:
Chevening Scholarships: The UK government’s flagship international scholarship fully funds a one-year master’s degree at any UK university for students who demonstrate leadership potential. Applications are accepted annually and we actively support our students through the application process.
Commonwealth Scholarships: Available to students from Commonwealth nations including Nepal. These scholarships cover tuition, a living allowance, and travel — and are extremely competitive. Our counsellors can help you build a compelling application.
GREAT Scholarships: Funded jointly by the British Council and UK universities, GREAT Scholarships offer a minimum of £10,000 towards tuition fees for one-year postgraduate courses. Nepali students are eligible, and we are familiar with which participating universities currently offer this award.
University-Specific Scholarships: Many of the universities we have listed — including Coventry, Sunderland, Middlesex, and Huddersfield — offer their own merit-based scholarships for international students, ranging from £2,000 to £5,000 in fee waivers. As ICCC has established relationships with these universities, we are often among the first to know when new scholarships become available.
